About us |
Who we are:
Deborah McIntyre is a native New Yorker who now calls San Francisco home. When not writing scripts for features, television, or computer games, she lets off steam by hiking the city hills or dancing salsa.
Deirdre Hegarty has lived in Germany & the US for a number of years but is based now in her native Ireland. She writes short stories with a surreal twist and screenplays. She enjoys playing the accordion and the well-established Irish pastime of talking at length about items of little importance.
Laziness brings us together:

Faced with ailing word counts and a looking deadline during the 2006 National Novel Writing Month, Deb and Deirdre were too lazy to travel to another part of the city to the established San Francisco "write-ins". Instead they organized a write-in closer to home in lettus cafe organic on Chestnut & Steiner in San Francisco. Many glasses of San Pellegrino were drunk. Word sprints were had. Champagne was imbibed when target word counts were achieved. A woman travelled through time. Dead girls were found in bogs in Ireland.
More importantly PLANS WERE HATCHED to team up on screenplays, starting with Script Frenzy. When Deirdre moved back to Ireland, Chimney Hill Productions was born.
Why Chimney Hill Productions?

Poolbeg electricity generating station has two smokestacks about 680ft in height. The red-and-white striped chimneys are a Dublin landmark and can be seen from many parts of the city, including from the window of the apartment in Sandymount where Deirdre lives.
San Francisco is famed for its hills and its cable cars. Both can be seen from the window of the apartment where Deb lives on Russian Hill.
